We are a team of passionate and experienced fashion Designers and Project Managers assisting fashion brands with a streamlined method to manage the development and bulk production process with the use of a project management software and procedures specifically designed to eliminate costly and time-consuming setbacks whilst increasing transparency and accuracy.

From our Australian based office, we assist with the entire process from conceptualising an idea through to finished products produced with transparent, sustainable and ethical factories located in China, Bali and India.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING A PRODUCT QUOTE?

CAN I SUBMIT OWN TECK PACKS AND FIT REPORTS?


Yes that is fine! Please keep in mind our factories require a high standard of tech packs for quotation and handover, we are happy to provide you with an exmaple of how this should be layed out. Alternatively you can purchase a Tech Pack template from our online shop.




WHY DO I NEED A REFERENCE SAMPLE?


To help your designer with speccing and garment shape!

A reference sample does not need to be identical to the garment designed, it is just used to help understand parts of the construction and finishing. It takes the guesswork out of the design and measurement concept stage.




WHAT IS YOUR MOQ?


MOQ varies pending factory, product type, fabrics, and of course cost. To give you a brief example: China - 50/150 pcs per style/colourway India - 80/100 pcs per style/colourway Bali - 50 pcs per style/colourway *Our capacity is about 300,000 garments per month/client*




CAN YOU PROVIDE SAMPLE ONLY SERVICES?


The factories do not offer sample only services, this is due to the significant time and cost that is invested in the sample stage of which much is only be recouped by bulk order and ongoing business.

Visionise require a cost approval based on tech packs prior to making samples.

WHAT ARE THE LEAD TIMES FOR SAMPLE & BULK PRODUCTION?


Lead times vary pending factory and fabric, if your fabric is being knitted or dyed this will result in a longer lead time. Lead times in Bali + India are a bit longer than China. WHAT ARE THE FABRIC, DYE AND STRIKE OFF LEAD TIMES?


There are a few steps that have to be followed before you can confirm your bulk fabric colour and prints:

Order yarn | Knitting | Lab dip & strike off | Bulk dye/print |

LABDIP'S & PRINT STRIKE OFF: 10 -15 days

BULK FABRIC DYE: 20-35days (pending dye method)

BULK FABRIC PRINTED: 30-40days (pending print method).

IS IT REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ALL SAMPLE ROUNDS: FIT+PROTO+SMS+PP BEFORE BULK PRODUCTION?


No, this depends on the factory, quantity of styles as well as fabric types and the complexity of the garment. If you already have patterns then you can sometimes go straight to SMS sample if the fabrics are available, it is worked out on a case by case basis.

WHY AM I SOMETIMES REQUIRED TO ORDER SMS & PP SAMPLES AT THE SAME TIME AS BULK?


SMS & PP samples should be made in your bulk fabric so that they look just like the finished product you are after. If you are using readily available stock fabrics then the factory will probably be able to order enough fabric for your samples only. However, if you are usuing a fabric that is not readily available you will have to order your bulk fabric to ensure the samples are made in this same fabric.

We are passionate about encouraging all brands to move into this sector, the more brands using these fabrics the more readily available they will become, and the more we can lessen our imprint for the fashion indusrty on our beautiful planet.

We have spent years building up relationships with suppliers all over the world, we also continue to keep our ears peeled for more amazing sustainable fabrics that become available!

WHY IS THE FABRIC I WANT NOT IN STOCK?


Unfortunately not all fabrics are always in stock :(

Once you have selected your fabric the supplier will notify your factory/project manager of availability and you can proceed accordingly. If your fabric is out of stock you may have to have to knitted from scratch, or alternatively find another fabric similair that is in stock.

Supplier dont keep endless supplies of fabrics it is dependant on demand and shelf life.




DO YOU OFFER SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING?

DO I NEED TO HAVE A FASHION DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE TO START MY FASHION BRAND?


No, many of our start up clients don't have any experience at all! We are here to help with as little or as much as you need us to, but we also want to ensure our start up brands are set up properly and ready for what is to come.




CAN I COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY WITH THE MANUFACTURER?


Yes! Communication is key for you to establish a good relationship with your manufacturer. Keep in mind however, if you are not experienced with off-shore manuufacturing, it will be your responsopnibility to familiarise youreslf with the industry language, and processes. Whether you are starting a brand new business, or setting up with the factory for the first time, it is very important that you make the process as streamlined and workable as possible. You are asking the factory to invest time and money into a new project that has no guarantee of large or on-going bulk orders. If your project is a combination of low MOQ and complex styles, you need to be flexible and work very closely with the factory. Ensure communication is consolidated, clear and precise, keeping in mind that English is probably not their first language. There is a fine balance between providing enough information and over complicating emails with too much information. Consolidate communication by topic, and keep in mind the frequency of emails.
The factories generally respond very promptly, however, time-difference and peak season may cause a delay, and sometimes they need time to investigate a situation before responding. No design, maker or order instructions are to be communicated via email or other communication avenues, this information must be consolidated within tech packs, sample reports and order forms. If you ever need assistance with management, communication, negotiation or any other part of your process, you can always book an appointment with our team for assistance and guidance.




HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO TO START A NEW FASHION BRAND?


Your budget should not only cover the business set-up cost as well as the sample and production of the first collection, but you may also need to have funding to cover an over-lap of another collection to avoid the risk of getting behind the seasons. There are a few set up costs that you shouldnt have to spend in future collections.

EXAMPLE OF START- UP BUDGET FIGURES

SET UP COST = AUD 10,000

SAMPLES = USD 2000-5000

BULK PRODUCTION = USD 20,000

IF I DONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR BULK PRODUCTION RIGHT NOW, CAN I STILL BEGIN THE PROCESS?


Yes, you sure can! We have split the process up into 3 stages for our start up clients, so you can start with STEP 1 which is the design and foundation stage, and if you need to pause and save up a bit more before going into sampling and production that is ok. Your bulk production is paid for in 2 parts, it is usually a 40 - 50% deposit to begin with and balance paid upon completion of bulk.




HOW CAN I MAKE SURE I GET RETURN ON MY INVESTMENT?


As you start out on any business venture you need a Business & Marketing plan and of course a budget to ensure market demand & production feasibility before going further into bulk. This is why we have created the Project Packages

It is easy enough to design something that looks beautiful, but designing to a budget is different story!

We dont let any of our clients go into sampling without calculating their estimated costs, margins and net profits. We want to ensure each collection will be profitable enough to organically grow without refinancing for the next collection.
